Rear Extension & Studio

A ground-floor addition for a growing family, plus a garden studio that could take client meetings. The planning constraint was clear: the addition could not look like an addition.

We sourced reclaimed brick from the same regional works as the original, matched the mortar by test panel rather than by eye, and carried the existing coursing through the junction. The studio sits at the end of the garden in charred timber so it reads as a separate object.

Four months. Neighbours have asked which part is new. That is the answer we were after.
